Creating Conducive Atmosphere in the Classroom

Dear teachers, Class management is very important to ensure that the teaching and learning take place effectively. We must train the students to be responsible in keeping their clasroom clean and conducive for teaching and learning. One of the ways to create a conducive classroom, is to have a set of rules for your class. The Rules of The Class 1.Keep the class clean all the time. 2.Do your duty before the class begins. 3.Sweep the floor and clean the blackboard. 4.Throw rubbish in the bin provided. 5.Do not eat and drink in the classroom. 6.Make sure the chairs and desks are arranged in straight line. 7.Wipe the windows every day. 8.Keep the reading corner neat and tidy. Arrange the books, magazines and any reading materials neatly. 9.Switch off the lights and fans every time you leave the classroom. When you ask children about what they would like to be when they grow up, most of them will naturally say they want to be a doctor, a lawyer, an architect, an engineer or a soldier. Those who love teaching would like to be a lecturer not a teacher. I met very few students who say, I would like to be like you. I want to be a teacher! What these children really need is some guidance. Let them explore what the world can offer them. If they are good in science, they can be a scientist, a geologist or a marine biologist. Parents should not decide for them. Let them choose their own choice of career. Parents however must not leave them on their own. Provide them the support they need and always listen to their complaints. Give them advice when they require it. Geology as a Career: Geology can be a very interesting and rewarding career. My Favourite Pastime

My favourite pastime is actually drawing.However I have not been using the right side of my brain for many good years due to my work. Teaching job has become so demanding.When you have 20 periods of teaching, some people will think you have all the time in the world and start giving you all the mundane jobs.I wish these people realise that teachers need more time to mark students' work and to prepare materials for their next lesson. Teaching is not about going into the classroom, controlling the students,making sure they sit still while completing their work.There are more to teaching.Only good teachers know!
